JESUS DID AS HE PRAYED
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one—I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me”
John 17:20-23
The common definition of unity is being together or at one with someone or something.
It is the opposite of being divided. This is a word for togetherness or oneness.
The Challenge
Biblical Unity based on Ephesians 4:1-6
The state of being in ONE MIND with others for the sake of accomplishing the will of God in the home, the church and the community means
mutually setting aside our differences of opinions, traditions, and hard-held beliefs to
focus on that which we hold in common.
“Our unity is not to be based on believing precisely the same things; that would make us a sect;
nor on behaving in precisely the same ways; that would make us a cult;
but rather on belonging to the same Father through the unconditional acceptance of his son Jesus Christ:
that’s what makes us a family.”
